Chilly Morning Until Warm Up On Allatoona

God’s handy work this morning on Allatoona! Chilly morning both temperature (41 degrees) and the bite was slow. But as the temp warmed up soon the spots followed and we ended up catching quite a few by lunch. Not much size today, still lots of fun. Biting on everything, finesse worms, crankbait, topwater and spinner bait. Seems like spawn is coming to an end for the spotted bass and they seem to be moving a little deeper.

Heath Lake at Rocky Mountain Recreation Area

Have you ever fished Heath Lake at the Rocky Mtn. recreation area? Only open the 1st-10th each month. Got in there on the last day for April and caught a couple decent ones. Heath Lake is open on the 1st–10th of each month. There is now a slot limit on largemouth bass. All largemouth bass 14″–20″ must be released immediately. There is still a creel limit of 5 fish, only one of which can be over 20″. Park Brochure Rocky Mountain Recreation & Public Fishing Area 4054 Big Texas Valley Road NW Rome, GA United States 30165

Another Active Day On Allatoona

Another active day fishing on Allatoona. Spots are moving back into the creeks and actively feeding although not until mid morning for us. Still having success using green pumpkin finesse worms dragging them slow along the bottom. Look for flats with quick drop-offs nearby. Catching all sizes ranging from 1 1/2 to 3 lbs

Lake Allatoona Heating Up

Lake Allatoona bass fishing is heating up just like the water temperature! Lake levels are finally down, which dropped it slightly below full pool level. Water clarity is good, temperatures are running in the mid-50s. This day we found the spotted bass feeding aggressively on secondary points, moving toward the shallower backs of the creeks. Our bites were predominatly on a finesse worm, green pumpkin by Strike King, fishing them close to the bottom and slowly.
